What have I come this far for? Pausing the things once considered essential to choose this path again is like a long-held promise to myself.
Amidst the sudden, fierce gusts of life, there were times when I simply had to let go of my strength and drift with the current. At the end of being swept away, I sought to reclaim what the wind had scattered. The trajectories of those winds ultimately led me to this present moment, becoming the deepest underlying grain of my canvas.
There was an undulating sky-blue wave running through the center. And I remember the moment of crossing the paper with a knife and paint—a mark that was there at my starting point and remains with me today. Just as human life begins from a single point, my work has grown and expanded through points and lines emerging from an indescribable undulation.
The sublimation of body and spirit guided into serenity. Hoping that this physical record of condensed time beyond language reaches as a quiet resonance, I dedicate myself to the canvas.
무엇을 위해 여기까지 온 것인가. 중요하다 여겨지는ﾠ것들을 멈추고 다시 선택한ﾠ 길. 그것은 나ﾠ 자신과의 오랜 약속 같은 것이다.
갑자기 불어닥친 삶의 거센 바람 속에서, 그 흐름에 몸을 맡긴 채 흘러가야만 했던 시간들이 있었다. 휩쓸려 가며 감내해야 했던 그 시간 끝에서, 나는 바람에 흩어진 본연의 나를 다시 찾으려 했다. 나를 스쳐 간 무수한 바람의 궤적들은 결국 지금의 여기로 나를 이끌었고, 내 화폭의 가장 깊은 바탕의 결이 되었다.
중심을 관통하는 하늘색의 출렁이는 물결이 있었다. 나이프와 물감으로 종이 위를 가로지르던 그 순간을 기억한다. 그것은 나의 출발점에도 있었고 지금도 존재하는 나의 표식이다. 하나의 점으로부터 시작된 인간의 삶처럼, 나의 작업 또한 설명할 수 없는 내면의 일렁임으로부터 발생한 점과 선이 증식되어 확장해 왔다.
고요함으로 인도되는 육체와 정신의 승화. 언어 너머의 시간을 응축한 이 물성의 기록이 조용한 울림으로 닿기를 바라며 정진한다.
